Privacy policy
This policy explains how the VoiceShift app and its website handle data. The developer is Thermometr App Dev.
1. Recordings, files and microphone
Recordings, imported audio, photos, videos and music for covers are processed on your device. The app does not upload these materials to a developer-operated server. Your original files remain unchanged; the app keeps its own copies for editing.
The microphone is used only after you start recording. A recording you start can continue when you leave the app or turn off the screen. You can control it in the app and, when notifications are allowed, through the recording notification. Microphone access can be revoked in Android settings.
The system file picker gives access to the material you select. Optional audio-library access is used to list audio files, titles, artists and durations; this list stays on your device. The app does not request access to all files. Sharing sends the result to the app you choose, which handles it under its own policies.
2. Text to speech
Text you enter may be saved as a draft on your device. You can delete it using Clear text. Speech is generated by your selected Android text-to-speech engine. On-device voices process text locally, while online voices may send it to the engine provider under that provider’s privacy rules. The app identifies voices that require a network connection.
3. Advertising, analytics and crashes
Google AdMob displays advertising and helps prevent fraud. It may process your IP address and approximate location, advertising and other identifiers, ad interactions and technical diagnostics. Google UMP manages advertising consent. Where available in your region, you can change your choice under Settings → Privacy → Ad consent settings. Advertising ID controls are also available in Android.
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics help us understand feature usage and fix errors. They receive app activity events, technical app and device information, installation identifiers and crash reports. We do not add recordings, speech text, file names or file paths to these reports or events. Advertising ID collection through Analytics is disabled.
Analytics and crash reporting are enabled by default. You can disable them independently under Settings → Privacy. Your choice is kept after app restarts and updates. Disabling Analytics resets its local data; disabling Crashlytics deletes unsent reports. Data already sent is not automatically deleted.
Firebase Remote Config retrieves feature and advertising settings using an installation identifier and technical connection information. Local activity counters help limit ads and rating prompts. They contain no recordings or text and can be reset in Privacy settings.

4. Retention and deletion
Recordings and projects are kept until you delete them in Studio or clear the app’s data. Temporary processing and sharing files older than 24 hours are cleaned up at the next launch. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes internal files and settings. Exported files and copies held by other apps may remain and must be deleted separately.
Audio, project materials and text drafts are excluded from the app’s Android backup. Settings, Favorites and custom presets may be backed up by Android. Files in shared folders may be synced separately by Android or other apps.
Google keeps Crashlytics reports for 90 days before starting deletion. Retention of other Google data depends on the service and its settings, as explained in the policies linked above. You can contact the developer below with data access or deletion requests.
5. Permissions and data security
Permissions support features you choose: microphone access for recording, audio access for the audio library, notifications for background recording controls, and system-settings access to set a ringtone. You can change permissions in Android settings.
Internal files are kept in the app’s private storage. Sharing grants another app temporary access to the selected file. Google services encrypt data in transit. You can choose an on-device voice, change available ad consent settings and disable analytics or crash reporting.
6. This website
The website does not use its own advertising cookies, tracking pixels or data-submission forms. Your language choice is stored only in your browser and can be reset by clearing site data. The website server may log IP addresses, access times and page addresses to operate and secure the site.
